Overview
AnyWatch is a mobile app that helps people choose what to watch on TV, based on recommendations from users they follow.
Problem
People don’t know what they should watch on TV, the recommendation systems of the streaming services fail to adapt content to the user.
Solution
Mobile app that helps people choose content to watch on TV, users can follow friends and see what content they have seen and liked
KPI's
- X amount of time to find a movie.
- X users finish the content they selected.
- Average rating of 4.5 stars from the content they watched.
Online Survey
To start, I wrote a survey to better understand who the users are and what their content consumption habits are.
I distributed the survey among fans of movies and TV series
25 participants answered the survey and these are the most interesting insights I discovered

100% of participants subscribe to 2 or more streaming services

47% of participants prefer to see a movie that a friend recommended to them.

68% of participants often did not find something that interested them
User Interview
I interviewed 3 participants who answered the survey to hear in their own words what problems and challenges they encounter when they want to choose content to watch
Tell me about the last time you were looking for a movie or TV show to watch
“I finished a day's work and wanted to clear my head with a good movie”
“My boyfriend and I were looking for a series that we could watch together”
“I had some free time and I was looking for something to pass the time”
what were you looking for?
“I was looking for a movie starring actors I like”
“I was looking for a comedy movie”
“I was looking for a not too long movie with a simple plot”
What did you do to check if the movie or series you chose is worth watching?
“I watched the trailers”
“I checked reviews”
“I consulted a friend with good taste in movies”

Conclusions
AnyWatch is an app that helps users choose what to watch on TV based on their favorite artists and people they follow, along with their personal taste. The main objective of my app is to simplify the process of choosing what to watch by providing personalized recommendations.
Throughout my project, I realized that creating a personalized experience for each user is crucial to the success of the app. I learned that people will often prefer to watch a movie or series that they received a recommendation from a friend I also found that designing an intuitive and visually appealing interface can significantly enhance the user experience and make the app more engaging.
